Wood That Traveled
The body of this guitar is crafted from okoume-wood I purchased from someone who originally intended it for boat building. The neck is made of quartersawn maple, and the fretboard is from locally harvested plum, giving the instrument a very personal dimension. Each piece of wood has traveled a different path-from the water and the forest to the workshop-and it is their union that creates a truly unique whole.
Telecaster Foundation with a 70s Soul
The setup is based on the classic Tele concept, enhanced by custom Tůma Tele N.O.S. 70 pickups, wound using original wire dating back to the 1970s. Combined with a 648 mm scale length, a bone nut, and Kluson hardware, the result is an open, clear tone with a distinct vintage character. The finish combines a nitro-lacquered body with an oiled neck, allowing the guitar to resonate naturally and feel comfortable in the hand.
A Second Life
The neck of this guitar has a story of its own. It was originally part of another instrument-a flamed cherry Telecaster I had previously built for Michael. Later, I crafted a new maple neck for that guitar, giving this one a second chance. For it, I created an entirely new body made of okoume. The guitar took shape at the school in Hradec Králové; the original instrument was completed in April 2021, while this guitar reached its final form in August 2023. The result is an instrument that bridges the past with a new beginning.
