A Modern Parlor
This guitar is a Size 0/Parlor-a modern, design-driven instrument that combines a compact body with sophisticated acoustics. Construction began in October 2018 during my studies at Tomáš Jech’s original workshop in Brtva and was completed in April 2019 at "Špejchar" in Dobruška-the very location where the Jech company originally began its furniture-making history.
constructions and materials
The multiscale design on this guitar combines two different scale lengths, providing the instrument with enhanced low-end and increased projection despite its compact body. The plum wood used for the back and sides was sourced from Kuba Kohout and was originally destined to become a cutting board; instead, it now resonates alongside a Sitka spruce top. The neck is crafted from a single piece of Honduran mahogany, while all other components are made of ebony.
Electronics and Musical Life
The pickup system was custom-made by Pavel Cejpek from Náchod, based on the K&K Pure Mini concept but with an additional sensor under the bass side of the bridge to provide more low-end and body. In 2020, the guitar was showcased at the Kytary.cz store, and after a few years, it found its way to Matouš Hereš. We recorded the debut album for the band Antitalent together, and today, the guitar serves in his home studio as a fully functional and inspiring professional instrument.
