A Guitar of Unique Materials
The body of this guitar combines flamed alder for the back and sides with a spruce top. The neck is crafted from a single piece of sapelli mahogany, while the fretboard, bridge, and headplate are made of ebony. The body is finished in a matte nitrocellulose lacquer, and the neck is treated with oil, highlighting the wood's natural grain. The tuners are by Kluson, and the bridge features my own custom design.
Initial Setup and Construction Details
The headstock features a signature shape that Tomáš Jech and I used for our acoustic guitars, and it has since become one of my trademark features. Every detail-from the bridge to the subtle lines of the fretboard-is meticulously thought out to ensure the instrument not only looks stunning but also plays and intonates exactly according to the builder's vision.
The Guitar's Journey
I built this guitar in March 2020 at the Špejchar workshop in Dobruška under the guidance of Tomáš Jech. I originally traded the instrument with Jakub Kohout for a hand-built boutique amplifier from the Czech maker Milan Martan-MMJUZ. Eventually, it made its way into the world through a musical gear marketplace. This instrument thus carries not only a personal mark of craftsmanship but also a story of travel among people who share a passion for music and high-quality instruments.
