A Guitar for Myself
I built this Jazzmaster for myself as a 2023 Christmas present. After years of playing various Squiers, Epiphones, and similar instruments, the time had come to build a guitar exactly to my own specifications-without compromises and precisely according to my vision. An instrument that wouldn't have to search for its player, but would know from the very beginning exactly who it was meant for.
Material with a Past
The body is glued to its final thickness from three pieces of mahogany that Tomáš Jech and I obtained from his aunt in Skuhrov, where she had kept them in her attic. They were old, dusty, and hard-dulling both knives and saw blades. Exactly the kind of wood that demands patience but rewards you with character. The neck is made of flamed maple from Austria, paired with an exotic ebony fretboard.
Sound Without Apologies
The sound is driven by overwound P90s by Lokvenc-hotter, punchier, and just plain aggressive 😀. Exactly what I wanted to feel under my fingers. Combined with a 648 mm scale length, Gotoh hardware, a bone nut, and the mix of a nitro-finished body and an oiled neck, the result is a guitar that isn't polished or polite-it’s honest. And that’s exactly how it should sound.
